J&K: All Schools, Colleges, and Universities Will Remain Closed Till 25 Oct
Educational Institutions in Jammu and Kashmir to Remain Closed Until October 25th
In light of the upcoming festive holidays in Jammu and Kashmir, the government has announced the closure of all schools, colleges, and universities in the region.
This decision, aimed at allowing students and educators to partake in the festive celebrations, comes as Mahanavami and Dussehra approach.
Mahanavami, which falls on October 23rd this year, is a significant Hindu festival that celebrates the ninth day of the Navaratri festival. It is marked with various religious rituals and cultural festivities.
Following this, Dussehra, a widely celebrated Hindu festival symbolizing the triumph of good over evil, is observed on October 24th and is an official holiday in the region.
To ensure that students and faculty have the opportunity to participate in these festivities, the closure of educational institutions has been extended until Wednesday, October 25th, 2023. This decision aligns with the spirit of unity and celebration that these festivals bring to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
The local government encourages residents to enjoy the festivities responsibly and observe necessary safety measures, particularly in light of the ongoing global health situation. As such, educational institutions will reopen after the extended closure to resume normal academic activities.
Parents, students, and educators are advised to stay updated with any further announcements or changes in the schedule from the local authorities. This temporary closure aims to allow everyone in Jammu and Kashmir to fully immerse themselves in the joyous atmosphere of Mahanavami and Dussehra.
