Srinagar, November 6, 2023 – In a recent development, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir, Home Department, has issued an order for the temporary suspension of telecom services in specific areas of Pulwama District.
The decision comes in the wake of security concerns, and it is aimed at maintaining public order and the sovereignty and integrity of India.
The order, Government Order No: Home-08(TSTS) of 2023, dated November 6, 2023, references Order No. 4106(TSTS) of 2023, issued by ADGP, Kashmir Zone, Srinagar (Authorized Officer), on November 5, 2023.
This directive instructed Telecom Service Providers (TSPs)/Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to suspend mobile data services (2G/3G/4G/5G) in the Wampora and Hunipora area of District Pulwama.
The suspension, effective from 1900 hours on November 5, 2023, will remain in place until 1900 hours on November 8, 2023.
