In a significant development, the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has released the provisional selection list for the coveted posts of Sub-Inspector, Police (Home Department), UT Cadre.
These posts were initially advertised through Notification No. 06 of 2021 dated 21.10.2021, and Notice No. SSB/Secy//2021/7926-42 dated 24.11.2021.
The recruitment drive, initiated by the Home Department, aimed to fill 1200 vacancies for Sub-Inspector positions in various categories. The detailed breakdown includes 600 under OM category, 96 for ST, 120 for OSC, 48 for ALC, 120 for RBA, 48 for PSP, and 120 for EWS, totaling 1200.
The selection process, outlined in the notification, involved a Computer-Based Written Test (CBT) conducted by JKSSB from December 7, 2022, to December 20, 2022. Subsequently, the Physical Standard Test (PST)/Physical Endurance Test (PET) was administered, with additional consideration for candidates holding NCC Certificates.
Following these assessments, the Selection Committee, appointed by JKSSB, finalized the Provisional Selection List. It is noteworthy that out of the advertised 1200 posts, 72 are reserved for Ex-Servicemen (ESM) candidates under Horizontal Reservation.
The Board, during its 251st meeting on December 29, 2023, approved the proposal to notify the Provisional Selection List. The list is subject to legal outcomes and pending enquiries involving candidates.
Candidates included in the Provisional Selection List are advised to note that their inclusion does not guarantee final selection, pending examination of objections based on merit.
Any candidate dissatisfied with the Provisional Selection List or those seeking to submit additional documents/certificates can communicate through the email address sihome1200@gmail.com within five days from the date of this notification. The email should contain comprehensive details, including Name, Address, Roll Number, and Contact Number.
Candidates listed in Annexure-B of the notification are instructed to report to the Medical Board at respective District Hospital/GMC, as indicated against each entry, for further processes.
