Srinagar, April 8: The meteorological department in Jammu and Kashmir has forecasted mainly dry weather for the next 24 hours, with a possibility of light rain and snow in many areas towards the evening of April 10.
According to a weather official, the region is expected to remain generally dry until April 9. However, on April 10, the weather is likely to become partly to generally cloudy, with light rain or snow expected in many places by the evening.
Following this, from April 11-12, the forecast indicates partly to generally cloudy weather, with light rain or snow expected in a few places, particularly in higher reaches.
From April 13-15, the region is expected to experience generally cloudy weather, accompanied by light to moderate rain or snow in many areas. Additionally, there may be occurrences of thunder, lightning, hailstorm, and gusty winds in a few places.
Looking ahead to April 16-17, the weather is anticipated to be partly to generally cloudy, with light rain or snow expected in a few places, particularly in higher reaches.
In terms of temperatures, Srinagar recorded a minimum of 5.8°C, Qazigund 2.6°C, Pahalgam 0.2°C, Kokernag 4.5°C, Kupwara 3.6°C, Gulmarg 0.0°C, Jammu 17.0°C, Banihal 4.8°C, Batote 8.5°C, and Bhaderwah 4.0°C.
