Fuel rates in India witnessed a slight shift today, influenced by changes in the international crude oil market. As of 6 am on Thursday, WTI crude was trading at $73.06 per barrel, while Brent crude reached $78.48 per barrel.
In Madhya Pradesh, petrol prices saw a decrease of 30 paise, and diesel dropped by 28 paise. Uttar Pradesh experienced a reduction of 27 paise for both petrol and diesel.
West Bengal observed a significant decline with petrol becoming cheaper by 70 paise and diesel by 65 paise. Meanwhile, Gujarat saw a minor uptick in petrol and diesel prices.
Currently, in Delhi, petrol is priced at Rs 96.72 per litre, and diesel at Rs 89.62 per litre. Mumbai residents are paying Rs 106.31 for petrol and Rs 94.27 for diesel. Kolkata’s rates stand at Rs 106.03 for petrol and Rs 92.76 for diesel. Chennai has petrol at Rs 102.63 and diesel at Rs 94.24 per litre.
Fuel prices in different states are determined by oil marketing companies like Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum. These companies adjust rates daily based on the global crude oil prices.
