SCERT Postpones Class 8th Exam
The Jammu and Kashmir State Council of Educational Research and Trainings (SCERT) has announced a postponement for the 8th-grade regional language paper examination, originally slated for Sunday, March 24th.
The SCERT cited delays in receiving question papers as the reason for the rescheduling, explaining that the papers for Kashmiri subjects could not be supplied on time due to logistical constraints.
According to a communication from the Joint Director of JKSCERT for the Kashmir division, the Middle Standard Examination 2024 necessitated a review of stock positions for question papers and references. Consequently, the confidential material for MSE 2023-24 is scheduled for dispatch on March 23rd, with the exam now set for April 7th.
The directive further outlined that the regional language paper, initially planned for March 24th in soft zones, will now align with the regional language exam for hard zones on April 7th.
Expressing concern over the delayed receipt of confidential materials, a representative from a Srinagar-based educational complex noted that typically, all necessary materials, including question papers, are received well in advance of examinations. However, this year, the delayed delivery has caused disruptions, particularly regarding Kashmiri and English subjects.
This postponement underscores the challenges faced by educational authorities in ensuring timely and seamless examination processes amidst logistical constraints.
