The Government of Jammu and Kashmir, through the Directorate of School Education, Kashmir, has announced the suspension of class-work in all educational institutions up to the Higher Secondary level in the Kashmir Division.
The directive comes in response to the ongoing inclement weather conditions and continuous rainfall, prompting authorities to take precautionary measures to ensure the safety of students and staff.
Dated April 29, 2024, the order emphasizes the temporary halt in class activities as a preventive step amid the challenging weather circumstances.
The Director of School Education, Kashmir, has communicated the decision to various authorities, including the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Administrative Secretary of the School Education Department J&K, and Deputy Commissioners across the region. Additionally, law enforcement agencies such as the Senior Superintendent of Police and SSP Traffic City Srinagar have been duly informed.
The advisory has also been shared with the Office of the Advisor to the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor J&K, the Joint Director of the Department of Information and Public Relations J&K (Kashmir), and Chief Education Officers for necessary action and dissemination.
