Summer Vacation Again Announced for Kashmir Schools Amid Heatwave

Srinagar, July 28 – Due to ongoing high temperatures, the administration in Kashmir has decided to halt classes for primary students across all schools on July 29 and 30. This measure applies to both government and private institutions.

The divisional commissioner of Kashmir, V K Bidhuri, issued an official directive stating that while students up to primary level will not attend school on these dates, teachers are still required to be present.

A statement from the divisional commissioner emphasized the extreme heat affecting the region and the need for this temporary suspension of classes. “Considering the continuous heatwave in the valley, it has been decided that students in primary classes of both government and recognized private schools will not have classes on July 29 and 30, 2024,” the order said.

Despite this, the directive clarified that all school staff, including teachers and administrative personnel, are to continue their regular duties.
