Winter Vacation Extended: Kashmir Schools’ Opening Date Changed; Download Order

In anticipation of heavy snowfall in the valley, the Directorate of School Education Kashmir has issued an order for the commencement of classwork in all government and recognized private schools of the Kashmir Division up to the higher secondary level. The classwork is scheduled to begin from March 4, 2024.

The order, numbered 69-DSEK and dated February 29, 2024, emphasizes the importance of adhering to the weather advisory issued by the Meteorological Department.

Furthermore, the order includes a list of recipients to whom copies have been forwarded for necessary action and dissemination of information.

This list comprises various government authorities and educational bodies such as the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Administrative Secretary to Government – School Education department, District Development Commissioners, and others.

In addition, the order requests the Director of Information and Public Relation, J&K, to publish the directive in leading daily newspapers of the Jammu/Kashmir Division.

This step is taken to ensure widespread awareness and compliance with the directive among stakeholders in the education sector.
