59 Crore Scam: Bank Accounts Freezed, Roles Social Media Promoters Being Investigated: Cyber Police Kashmir

Srinagar, December 20: In a significant move, Cyber Police Kashmir executed raids at various locations, sealing properties linked to an online money scam.

The crackdown targeted a company operating under the guise of “Curative Survey Private Limited,” accused of deceiving individuals through a fraudulent website.

The Cyber Police revealed that the company, enticing victims with false promises of substantial returns, had allegedly scammed and cheated numerous individuals who invested their hard-earned money.

Preliminary investigations exposed the company’s tactic of luring the public to register on its website, claiming partnership opportunities in conducted surveys with promised payments.

As the scheme unfolded, the company reportedly halted due payments to registered individuals, with its promoters and directors absconding and unreachable. In response, Cyber Police Kashmir registered a case (FIR No 39/2023) under relevant sections of the IPC and IT Act in Cyber PS Kashmir Zone, Srinagar.

Further details emerged from victims, indicating promises of payments for daily survey activities. The allure of quick and easy money led unsuspecting individuals to subscribe to what appears to be a fake and fraudulent scheme. In the early stages of the investigation, Cyber Police Kashmir swiftly froze several identified accounts operated by the company.

Multiple searches were conducted at locations and registered offices associated with the company, all of which were sealed afterward.

The ongoing investigation is focusing on identifying the company’s owners and promoters, with scrutiny into the roles of local office staff and social media promoters.

The general public is strongly urged to exercise caution regarding online scams and verify the credentials of any online schemes before investing their hard-earned money. Victims of this scam are encouraged to share relevant information with the investigation agency.

The investigation into this case is progressing expeditiously, as stated in the official release by Cyber Police Kashmir.
