DGP Swain’s Important Announcement for SPOs

SRINAGAR: The Director General of Police, R R Swain, underscored the significance of enhancing skills while prioritizing the welfare of the police family, including Special Police Officers (SPOs), during his address at the Commando Training Centre (CTC) Lethpora.

During his visit to the CTC in Lethpora, South Kashmir, on March 9, 2024, Director General of Police R.R. Swain interacted with commando trainees and emphasized the integral role of law enforcement in serving and safeguarding the community.

He commended the trainees for their dedication and hard work, particularly highlighting their commitment during the rigorous training program.

The visit included an inspection of various training facilities, including the firing range, and a demonstration of an anti-terror operation by the trainees. Expressing satisfaction with the performance showcased, the DGP applauded the trainees for acquiring valuable skills and praised the instructors for their effective training methods.

In his address, DGP Swain reiterated the primary duty of law enforcement personnel to protect citizens from crimes and maintain peace and tranquillity in the region.

He emphasized the need to identify and take decisive action against elements disrupting public safety and hindering socioeconomic activities.

Underlining the importance of supporting and empowering the police family, including SPOs, the DGP announced welfare measures, including a 15 percent reservation for SPOs in the upcoming constable recruitment.

He emphasized the need to educate and prepare SPOs for the recruitment process while assuring continued support and welfare initiatives from the Police Headquarters.

During the visit, DGP Swain also recognized and rewarded four trainees for their exceptional performance during training, highlighting the commitment to excellence within the force.
