Government Announces Transfers and Postings of Medical Officers in Jammu & Kashmir
In a recent development, the Government of Jammu & Kashmir, through the Health & Medical Education Department, Civil Secretariat, J&K, Srinagar, has issued Government Order No. 173-JK(HME) of 2024, dated March 9, 2024, regarding the transfers and postings of several Medical Officers across different healthcare facilities.
The decision, aimed at optimizing administrative efficiency and enhancing patient care, entails the immediate reassignment of duties for the following Medical Officers:
Dr. Umar Ali, with an MD in Anaesthesia, who will now serve at SDH Kangan after previously being stationed at NTPHC Shalbug, Ganderbal.
Dr. Zehra Batool, whose new posting is at PHC Hazratbal, with her specific designation currently awaiting orders of adjustment.
Dr. Umeek Jeelani, holding an MS in ENT, will transition from SDH Achabal to Gousia Srinagar Hospital.
Dr. Sanam Altaf, an ENT specialist, and Dr. Aarifa Ishaq, along with Dr. Shahnaz Khan, specializing in Anaesthesia, will be redistributed to various healthcare facilities, including L.D Hospital in Srinagar, SDH Seer, and PHC Kani Mazar in Srinagar, among others.
Dr. Tufail Lone and Dr. Rubeena, along with Dr. Umar Nazir Munshi, will also see new assignments, with their current locations being SDH Pattan, awaiting orders of adjustment, PHC Teetwal in Tangdhar, and PHC Gushi, respectively.
Dr. Jamsheed Ahmad, Dr. Umair Kazmee, and Dr. Fozia Gul Afroz will undergo transfers to PHC Gushi, SDH Tral, and PHC Kakpora, respectively.
These changes reflect the government’s commitment to ensuring a well-organized and effective healthcare system across the region.
