Srinagar, April 04 – Responding to the imperative need to enhance patient care services, the Health and Medical Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir has recently issued a directive to extend the working days and hours in all Government Medical and Dental colleges across the region.
The latest directive, obtained by ProKashmiri outlines the adjustment of working hours for staff members in Government Medical Colleges (GMCs) and Government Dental Colleges (GDCs).
According to the directive, the new reporting time for all staff will commence at 9 am, with the working day concluding at 5 pm, excluding Saturdays.
The essence of the directive is succinctly captured in the statement, “In order to improve patient care, the reporting time will be set at 9 am, and the conclusion of the working day will be at 5 pm on weekdays, with a half-hour lunch break from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm, applicable to all government medical and dental colleges in J&K.”
Furthermore, Saturdays will observe a slightly altered schedule, with the reporting time beginning at 9 am and the working day concluding at 1:30 pm.
