J&K Government Announces Municipal Officer Transfer and Posting
In a recent development, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir, Housing & Urban Development Department, Civil Secretariat, has issued Government Order No. 26-JK(HUD) of 2024 on 13th February, 2024, announcing several transfers and postings for administrative efficiency.
The transfers and postings, effective immediately, aim to streamline operations and enhance the functioning of various municipal bodies across the region.
Notable changes include Mr. Suhail Ahmad Malik being appointed as the Executive Officer for Municipal Committee Pahalgam, along with additional responsibilities for Municipal Council, Shopian, and Municipal Committee, Bijbehara.
Similarly, Mr. Shahid Yousuf Bhat, Ms. Oruja Mohiuddin, Mr. Mohd Iqbal Bhat, Ms. Farhana Shaukat, Mr. Mohd Irfan Wani, Mr. Noveed Ajaz Khan, and Mr. Farooq Ahmad Ganie have been assigned new roles and additional charges within different municipal committees and councils across various locations in Jammu and Kashmir.
These changes also include the relieving of Dr. Showkat Ahmad Bhat, JKAS, from his additional charge as the Municipal Council Anantnag, while still holding responsibilities for Municipal Committee, Pahalgam.
Furthermore, the order specifies additional charges for various officers, such as Municipal Council Budgam, Municipal Council Shopian, Municipal Council Kupwara, Municipal Committee Handwara, and others, indicating a comprehensive restructuring aimed at optimizing administrative effectiveness.
The Government’s decision underscores its commitment to efficient governance and ensuring the smooth functioning of municipal bodies across Jammu and Kashmir.
