J&K Government Issues Official Statement on Watermelon Scare
Srinagar, March 16: In response to recent concerns, government officials have confirmed the safety of watermelons for consumption.
Deputy Commissioner of the Food and Safety department, Shagufa Jalal, addressed the issue in a press conference today, as reported by news agency.
Jalal stated that samples were collected from all districts in the Kashmir valley following public apprehension regarding the quality of watermelons.
The test results, revealed today, indicate no adverse findings, affirming the safety of watermelons for consumption. “We urge the public to disregard any unfounded rumors,” Jalal emphasized, noting that watermelon consumption is not limited to any specific season.
Regarding actions against those responsible for spreading rumors, Jalal mentioned that the matter has been escalated to higher authorities for further investigation.
