J&K Govt Announces Special Leave for Employees for Mahashivratri Celebration

In a recent announcement, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir, General Administration Department, Civil Secretariat, has sanctioned a three-day Special Casual Leave for employees based in Jammu, Migrants, and those covered under the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s Package.

The leave is granted on the occasion of Mahashivratri, falling on the 7th, 9th, and 11th of March 2024.

This decision aims to facilitate employees who wish to celebrate Mahashivratri with their families in Jammu. The order, Government Order No. 758-JK(GAD) of 2024, dated 1st March 2024, was issued by the Lieutenant Governor’s office.

Sanjeev Verma, IAS, Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, signed the order, which includes various officials and departments to ensure its implementation.

This initiative is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to accommodate the cultural and religious observances of its employees, fostering a work-life balance and acknowledging the significance of such festivals in the lives of individuals.
