J&K Govt Appoints IPS Officer as DIG for Central Kashmir Range

In a recent development, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir, through its Home Department Civil Secretariat in Jammu/Srinagar, has issued a significant order regarding the appointment of an IPS officer.

This decision, aimed at enhancing administrative efficiency, comes in light of the communication received from the Director General of Police, J&K, dated 05.02.2024.

According to Government Order No. 74-Home of 2024 dated 06.02.2024, Shri Rajiv Omprakash Pande, IPS (AGMUT:2010), is appointed as the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) for the Central Kashmir Range.

This appointment follows his repatriation to the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Shri Pande’s placement fills an existing vacancy and relieves Shri Altaf Ahmad Khan, IPS, of the additional charge previously held for the said post.

This order, signed by (Raj Kumar Goyal) IAS Financial Commissioner/ Additional Chief Secretary, emphasizes the Government’s commitment to maintaining effective governance and addressing administrative needs promptly.

The Government has directed the dissemination of this order to various relevant authorities, including the Director General of Police, J&K, the Principal Secretary to the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, J&K, and the Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, General Administration Department, among others.

This decision is expected to streamline operations within the Central Kashmir Range and contribute to the overall security and administrative framework in the region.
