J&K Govt Postpones Upcoming Holiday, Check New Date Here
In a recent development, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir, through the General Administration Department, has issued a notification regarding the postponement of the holiday for Shab-i-Miraj.
According to Government Order No.577-JK (GAD) of 2024 dated 05.02.2024, the holiday will now be observed on 08th of February, 2024 (Thursday) instead of the initially scheduled date of 07th of February, 2024 (Wednesday).
This decision comes as a partial modification of Government Order No. 1582-JK(GAD) of 2023 dated 11.12.2023.
The alteration in the holiday schedule aims to ensure proper observance of Shab-i-Miraj in the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The order, signed by Sanjeev Verma, IAS, Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, has been communicated to various departments and officials for necessary action. The notice, dated 05.02.2024, bears the reference number No. GAD-ADMOIII/123/2023-09-GAD.
The recipients of this order include all Financial Commissioners (Additional Chief Secretaries), Director General of Police, J&K, Principal Secretaries to the Government, Director General, J&K Institute of Management, Public Administration and Rural Development, Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor, J&K, and other concerned authorities.
Furthermore, the order has been copied to Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir/Jammu, All Deputy Commissioners, Director, Information, J&K, Chairperson, Special Tribunal, J&K, Heads of Departments/Managing Directors, Secretary, J&K Public Service Commission, Director, Archives, Archaeology and Museums, J&K, Director, Estates, Kashmir/Jammu, Secretary, J&K Services Selection Board, Secretary, J&K Legislative Assembly, General Manager, Government Press, Jammu/Srinagar, and other relevant entities.
Additionally, the order emphasizes the provision of Hindi & Urdu Versions for wider dissemination of information.
This decision by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir reflects its commitment to ensuring the smooth functioning of administrative procedures while accommodating religious observances.
