In a significant development, the Jammu & Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has issued a crucial notice regarding the forthcoming examination for the coveted position of Patwari.
This announcement comes as a follow-up to the initial Notification No: 02 of 2021, which was released on 02.01.2024, marking an important milestone in the recruitment process.
According to the recent communication, all aspiring candidates are hereby notified that the Written Descriptive Examination for the Urdu Qualifying paper (Part I) is scheduled to be conducted on 31.03.2024.
This examination holds paramount importance as it serves as a qualifying criterion for candidates to progress to the next phase of the recruitment process.
However, it is important to note that the OMR based written examination for Part II will be administered at a later date, and the specific dates for this phase will be communicated separately.
This two-part examination process is designed to ensure a comprehensive evaluation of candidates’ skills and qualifications, thus maintaining the integrity and fairness of the recruitment process.
Candidates are advised to diligently prepare for the Urdu Paper examination to enhance their chances of qualifying for the subsequent phase. Only those candidates who successfully clear the Urdu Paper examination will be deemed eligible to participate in the Part II OMR based examination.

The notice, signed by Reyaz Ahmed Malik, JKAS Controller of Examinations, reiterates the Board’s commitment to conducting a fair, transparent, and merit-based recruitment process.

Furthermore, the communication has been disseminated to various stakeholders for their awareness and action. Copies of the notice have been forwarded to the Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, General Administration Department, Jammu/Srinagar, to ensure their informed participation in the recruitment process.
Additionally, the Director of Information and Public Relations, J&K, has been entrusted with the responsibility of publishing this notice in leading newspapers of Jammu and Srinagar for three consecutive days. This dissemination strategy aims to reach a wide audience and ensure maximum awareness among potential candidates.
