The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has announced the final selection list for 855 positions of Junior Engineer (Civil) in the Public Works (R&B) Department. These positions were advertised under Notification No. 06 of 2022 dated 11.11.2022.
The recruitment process began when the Board received a requisition for these positions from the Public Works (R&B) Department.
Candidates were required to have a 3-year diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized institute or university, or a degree in Civil Engineering from an Indian university, AMIE Section (A&B) India. The application deadline for these positions was 27.12.2022, and the OMR based written examination was conducted on 19.11.2023.
Following the written examination, the Board notified the result/score-sheet and conducted document verification for candidates falling within the consideration zone from 13.12.2023 to 29.12.2023.
Subsequently, a Selection Committee was constituted to prepare the Provisional Selection List based on merit and eligibility, which was approved by the Board in its meeting held on 25.01.2024.
The Provisional Selection List was then published on 29.01.2024, inviting objections from candidates. After receiving various representations, including those related to document submissions and corrections, a notice was issued on 07.02.2024, advising candidates to submit the necessary documents within five days.
The proposal for notifying the Final Selection List was placed before the Board in its meeting held on 19.02.2024, and after due consideration, it was approved for notification. The Final Selection List is subject to the outcome of any pending OAs/Writ Petitions and inquiries involving candidates mentioned in the list.
Candidates whose recommendations are withheld are required to submit the required documents/certificates within one month. It is emphasized that selections were made based on self-declaration/certificates submitted by candidates, and any candidate found to have submitted false information or secured selection through fake documents/certificates will face cancellation of selection at any stage.
The formal recommendations will be forwarded to the concerned Indenting Department separately. The notification also directs the Secretary to the Government, Public Works (R&B) Department, and the Director of Information, J&K, to publish this notification in at least three leading newspapers of Jammu/Srinagar.
The release of the Final Selection List marks a significant milestone in the recruitment process, bringing clarity and transparency to the selection of Junior Engineers in the Public Works (R&B) Department of Jammu and Kashmir.
