In a recent development, the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has released the provisional selection list for candidates applying to the Junior Engineer (Civil) positions in the Jal Shakti Department.
This announcement follows the advertisement under Notification No. 05 of 2021, dated 22.09.2021.
The Jal Shakti Department had initially referred 163 posts of Junior Engineer (Civil) to the JKSSB, as indicated in Indent No. JSD/NGJ/65/2021 dated 10.08.2021. The positions were categorized under various sections, with a category-wise break-up provided in the official notification.
The selection process involved a written examination conducted on 05.12.2022 to 06.12.2022 in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. Subsequently, the results and score sheets were announced on 04.11.2023, and candidates falling within the consideration zone were called for Document Verification on 01.01.2024, with a supplementary round on 04.01.2024.
A Selection Committee, formed on 03.01.2024, meticulously scrutinized the candidates’ eligibility and merit based on the established rules. The Provisional Selection List was then presented before the JKSSB during its 255th meeting held on 12.01.2024, receiving approval for notification.
It is crucial to note that the Provisional Selection List is subject to any pending OAs/Writ Petition(s) in the competent court of law. Additionally, it remains contingent on the outcome of ongoing enquiries involving candidates listed in this provisional selection.
This list is provisional and open to changes based on objections received, with inclusion in the list not guaranteeing final selection.
