J&K Govt Announces Recruitment Drive for 4022 J&K Police Constable Vacancies

In a significant move aimed at bolstering law enforcement in Jammu and Kashmir, the Home Department has referred 4022 vacancies of Constables in the J&K Police to the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB).

This step reaffirms the government’s commitment to strengthening law enforcement agencies and ensuring the safety and security of the region’s residents.

The vacancies for Constables in the J&K Police were last advertised in 2019, and the current initiative will substantially reinforce the constabulary ranks within the vital security force unit of the UT Police.

The decision to fill these vacancies is expected to enhance the overall security apparatus of Jammu & Kashmir while simultaneously creating employment opportunities for local youth. The lack of recruitment at the Constable level had strained the manpower resources of the J&K Police, impacting operational readiness and service delivery.

The upcoming recruitment process, to be conducted by the Services Selection Board, will provide aspiring candidates with the opportunity to apply and participate. This move underscores the government’s commitment to generating employment opportunities for local youth.

The 4022 vacancies are distributed across various categories, including 1689 vacancies of Constables (J&K Armed/IRP), 100 of Constable SDRF, 502 of Constable (Telecom), 20 of Constable (Driver), and 22 posts of Constable (Photography) under the UT cadre.

Additionally, there are 1689 vacancies of Constable Executive Police in the divisional cadre, comprising 1249 posts for Jammu and 440 posts for Kashmir.

The announcement of these vacancies comes at a crucial time, as it addresses the pressing need for additional manpower within the J&K Police force. By filling these positions, the government aims to strengthen the operational capabilities of the police force, thereby improving its ability to effectively address various security challenges and maintain peace and order across the region.

Moreover, the recruitment of local youth to these positions not only contributes to the overall security of Jammu & Kashmir but also serves as a means of socio-economic empowerment for the community.

It provides young individuals with stable employment opportunities, enabling them to contribute positively to their families and communities while also fostering a sense of pride and belonging in serving their region.

Through this initiative, the government demonstrates its unwavering commitment to prioritizing the safety and security of its citizens while also promoting inclusive growth and development across the region.
