JKPSC Invites Applications for KAS Combined Competitive (Main) Examination – 2023
The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) has announced the commencement of the application process for the J&K Combined Competitive (Main) Examination, 2023.
This notification, numbered PSC/Exam/2024/01 and dated March 1, 2024, invites eligible candidates domiciled in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir to apply for the examination.
Candidates who have qualified for admission to the Main Examination as per Notification No. PSC/Exam/S/2023/90 dated November 18, 2023, are encouraged to submit their applications through the online mode.
The examination is conducted in accordance with the rules laid down by the General Administration Department of the Government of UT of Jammu & Kashmir and the J&K Public Service Commission (Conduct of Examination) Rules, 2022.
Important Dates and Instructions:
The application form, along with instructions for filling it, will be available on the Commission’s website from March 4, 2024. Candidates are advised to thoroughly review the instructions and eligibility criteria before filling out the online application form.
The deadline for submitting the online application form, complete in all respects and accompanied by the requisite fee (online mode only), is March 10, 2024. It’s crucial for candidates to submit their applications well before the closing date to avoid any technical issues or heavy website traffic during the final days.
The Main Examination is tentatively scheduled to commence from March 26, 2024. A detailed date sheet will be issued separately.
Details of Post/Service and Vacancies:
The examination is being conducted for various posts/services, including Junior Scale of J&K Administrative Service, J&K Police (G) Service, and J&K Accounts (G) Service. The pay scale for these positions ranges from Rs. 9300-34800 with Grade Pay of Rs. 4800 to Level 8 (Rs. 47600-Rs. 151100).
A total of 75 vacancies are available across these services, with a breakdown provided for different categories.
Conditions of Eligibility:
Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria specified in SRO-103 of 2018 dated February 23, 2018, along with other relevant notifications and corrigendum. Key eligibility parameters include:
- Qualification of the Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination, 2023.
- Domicile of UT of J&K.
- Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University in India or a Foreign University declared equivalent by the Government in consultation with the Commission.
Additionally, candidates who have appeared in the bachelor’s degree examination in 2023 must provide proof of full participation in the required examination by the specified deadline.
Candidates with a final professional M.B.B.S or any other medical examination qualification, pending completion of their internship, can be provisionally admitted to the examination provided they submit the required certificate along with their application.
