MeT Predicts Rain and Snow in Various Locations Across Jammu and Kashmir on THIS Date
Srinagar, December 27 – The Kashmir Valley continues to grapple with severe cold wave conditions and persistent fog as it remains in the grip of the ‘Chillai-Kalan,’ a 40-day intense winter phase set to conclude on January 30.
However, the conclusion of this period doesn’t mark the end of winter, as it transitions into the subsequent 20-day ‘Chillai-Khurd’ and a 10-day ‘Chillai-Bachha’ lasting from February 20 to March 1.
The local weather forecast indicates generally cloudy skies with a potential for light snow over isolated higher reaches within the next 24 hours.
Meteorological officials anticipate predominantly dry weather with moderate to dense fog across Central Kashmir, Plains of Baramulla, Ganderbal, and Pulwama until December 31.
As we move into the new year, the weather is expected to take a turn, with generally cloudy conditions and the possibility of light rain in isolated areas forecasted for January 1-2.
Subsequently, January 3-4 may witness generally cloudy weather with light rain or snow scattered across various places in the region. Residents are advised to stay prepared for the fluctuations in weather patterns during these upcoming days.
