Over the past 24 hours, the picturesque Kashmir Valley experienced a diverse range of weather phenomena, including moderate rain and snowfall, alongside heavy to very heavy rainfall in the plains and snow over the higher altitudes.

Looking ahead, the forecast for March 3rd indicates a continuation of the mixed weather patterns, with partly to generally cloudy conditions expected throughout the day.

There is a possibility of intermittent light rain or snow at scattered places towards the afternoon or late afternoon, albeit for a brief period. However, beyond March 3rd, the weather is anticipated to remain relatively calm, with no significant weather activities expected until March 10th.

During this period, there might be sporadic occurrences of light rain or snow at scattered places, particularly during the night of March 6th to 7th. However, the real weather activity is predicted to pick up again between March 12th and 14th, with fresh spells of rain or snow forecasted to sweep across the valley.

In response to these weather forecasts, authorities have issued several advisories to ensure the safety and well-being of residents and visitors alike.

Travelers and tourists planning to explore the breathtaking landscapes of Kashmir are advised to plan their journeys meticulously and adhere to administrative and traffic police advisories to avoid any unforeseen disruptions.

Furthermore, residents residing in hill areas are cautioned against venturing into avalanche-prone and steep regions, with specific emphasis on following avalanche warnings and advisories to mitigate any potential risks.

Additionally, concerns have been raised regarding the possibility of landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones at various locations across the valley, prompting authorities to urge caution and vigilance among residents.

Moreover, farmers are advised to take proactive measures to drain excess water from their fields and orchards to safeguard their agricultural produce from any potential damage caused by the inclement weather.

As the Meteorological Center in Srinagar continues to monitor the weather situation closely, residents are urged to stay updated with the latest forecasts and advisories to ensure their safety and preparedness in the face of varying weather conditions.
