Fresh Western Disturbance Brings Potential for Light Snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir

In the picturesque region of Jammu and Kashmir, a new Western Disturbance (WD) is on the horizon, and it may bring a touch of winter wonder to the higher elevations.

Under the influence of this fresh and feeble WD, meteorologists anticipate light snowfall in specific areas, particularly in Zojila pass, Sinthan pass, Peer ki gali, and the higher reaches of Sonamarg, Gulmarg, and Pahalgam. The timing for this wintry spectacle is set for tomorrow late afternoon.

Apart from snow in the higher reaches, there’s a 60% chance of light rain showers over the plains of Kashmir starting tomorrow late afternoon and continuing until Monday morning. This period is not expected to see any significant weather disruptions, providing some relief to the region.

Beyond this short-term forecast, it’s predicted that mostly dry weather will prevail from the 23rd of October onwards across Jammu and Kashmir.
