Weather Forecast: Rain and Snow Expected in Jammu and Kashmir

The Meteorological Department in Jammu and Kashmir has issued a weather forecast indicating the likelihood of light rain and snow from the 8th to the 10th of November.

According to an official statement given to the news outlet ProKashmiri, the current weather conditions are primarily clear to partly cloudy, and it is expected to remain dry on the 6th and 7th of November.

However, as of the 8th of November, the weather is forecasted to become fairly to generally cloudy with light rain in the plains and light snow in certain higher-altitude areas.

On the 9th of November, similar conditions are expected, with general cloud cover and the possibility of light rain in the plains and light snow in areas such as Razdan Pass, Sadhna Pass, Sinthan Pass, Zojila, and Mughal Road.

The 10th of November is anticipated to be fairly to generally cloudy with isolated instances of light rain or snow in the morning, followed by improved conditions.

Beyond the 10th of November, the weather is predicted to remain mainly dry. However, during this period, there is a projected dip in maximum temperatures.

The Meteorological Department has also issued an advisory to farmers, recommending the suspension of farm operations, especially on the 9th of November.

Travelers are advised to plan their journeys carefully, as there is a possibility of temporary disruptions in surface transportation over higher-altitude regions due to slippery conditions during this period.
