Winter Weather Alert: More Snow Expected in Kashmir

Over the last 24 hours, Kashmir Division experienced a spell of light snowfall, measuring between 3 to 6 inches in the plains and a more substantial 8 to 12 inches in the middle and higher reaches.

Simultaneously, Jammu Division saw light to moderate rainfall, often accompanied by thunder in the plains, and similar snow conditions prevailed in its middle and higher elevations.

Forecast:

4th Feb: Today’s forecast indicates generally cloudy conditions with light to moderate snow likely to persist across many areas until late afternoon, followed by a gradual improvement thereafter.

In Jammu Division, intermittent light to moderate rain with thunder and snow in middle and higher reaches is expected to continue until the evening, with conditions expected to improve thereafter.

5th Feb: On the 5th, partly to generally cloudy skies are expected with a possibility of light snow in isolated higher elevations.

6th-13th Feb: Looking ahead, the forecast suggests generally dry weather conditions prevailing from the 6th to the 13th of February.
