Winter Vacation Announced for ITI’s in Jammu and Kashmir

The Directorate of Skill Development under the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has issued a circular regarding the winter vacation schedule for Industrial Training Institutes (ITI’s) in the region.

Key Points:

1) Winter vacations for all Government and Private ITI’s in the Kashmir Division will be observed from January 6th to January 20th, 2024.

2) ITI’s falling under the winter zone of Jammu Division will also have winter vacations during the same period.
Other Government and Private ITI’s in Jammu Division will observe winter vacations from January 6th to January 13th, 2024.

3) Despite the vacation period, institutes will remain open for various training activities, including the implementation of PM Vishwakarma, Nal Jal Mitra, B2V5 training, and other Short Term Training Programs.

4) All Head of Institutions, faculty, and staff are required to remain present at the institute during the vacation period.
Online classes will be conducted for trainees during the winter vacation to ensure continuous learning.

The circular, signed by Sudershan Kumar (JKAS), Director of Skill Development, emphasizes the importance of maintaining educational activities even during the vacation period.

Official Communication:

The circular (No: DSDD/385/2022-01-cc(7096472)/1724-1729) has been sent to various stakeholders, including the Administrative Secretary to Government, Skill Development Department, J&K, Joint Director of Skill Development in Kashmir and Jammu, and all Principal/Superintendent of ITI’s in JKUT for their information and compliance.

The decision to announce winter vacations aligns with the need to address the intense cold weather conditions prevalent in the region during this period.
