59 SSPs and SPs Transferred Across Jammu and Kashmir

In a significant administrative move, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir’s Home Department has issued Government Order No.: 56-Home of 2024, detailing a series of transfers and postings of police officers across various key positions within the state.

Among the notable transfers, Ms. Sargun, IPS, who previously served as the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) at the Police Control Room (PCR) in Jammu, has been reassigned as the Commandant of the IR-15th Battalion, replacing Shri Mubassir Latifi.

This transition marks a strategic realignment of leadership roles within the police force.

Furthermore, Shri Sandeep Gupta, IPS, formerly serving as the Superintendent of Police (SP) with a focus on technology at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Headquarters, has been designated as the new SSP of Ganderbal, succeeding Shri Nikhil Borkar, IPS.

This appointment underscores the government’s emphasis on leveraging technological advancements in law enforcement practices.

In another significant change, Shri Shobhit Saxena, IPS, previously serving as the SP at the State Investigation Agency in Jammu, has been transferred to the role of SSP in Kupwara, succeeding Shri Yougal Kumar.

This transition is expected to bring fresh perspectives and strategies to the management of law enforcement in the region.

Additionally, Ms. P.D. Nitya, IPS, who was awaiting reassignment upon repatriation, has been appointed as the new SSP of Doda, succeeding Shri Abdul Qayoom.
