All Govt Offices, Educational Institutions, Banks To Remain Closed Tomorrow in Kashmir

In a recent announcement by the General Administration Department of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir, a half-day public holiday has been declared for the Union territory on January 22, 2024.

This decision, outlined in Government Order No.203-JK (GAD) of 2024, comes in continuation of previous orders dated December 11, 2023.

The holiday, effective until 02:30 p.m., is in reference to the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions (Department of Personnel & Training), Government of India’s communication (F. No. 12/7/2023-JCA dated: 18th January, 2024) regarding Shri Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha at Ayodhya.

The official directive, signed by Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Sanjeev Verma (IAS), cites Government Order No.1582-JK(GAD) of 2023 and Government Order No.1583-JK(GAD) of 2023 as precedents for this decision.

The order has been communicated to various authorities, including Financial Commissioners, Director General of Police, Principal Secretaries to the Government, and other key officials.

It reflects the administrative commitment to ensure the smooth implementation of the public holiday across the region.

This move is part of the administrative measures taken by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir, as communicated through the office of Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, to align with the national directives and observances.
