J&K Govt Releases Important Notice For E-Sharam Card Holders
In response to the directives issued by the Hon’ble Supreme Court in the case titled “In Re; Problems & Miseries of Migrant Labourers” and the subsequent Government Order No. 1624-JK(GAD) of 2023, the Directorate of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Kashmir, is undertaking a significant endeavor to extend essential support to eligible individuals across the region.
A two-day initiative has been scheduled on 2nd & 3rd February, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, spanning across all districts within the Kashmir Division.
The initiative aims to provide ration cards or include eligible individuals in existing ration card systems through dedicated camps set up at Tehsil Supply Offices and the Offices of Assistant Directors.
This proactive step by the Government of Jammu & Kashmir seeks to address the pressing needs of individuals who are registered on the e-Shram portal yet do not possess a ration card or are not included in their respective household entitlements.
By organizing camps at local Tehsil Supply Offices and the Offices of Assistant Directors, the government aims to ensure accessibility and convenience for all eligible individuals to avail themselves of this essential service.
To participate in this initiative and benefit from the provision of ration cards or inclusion in existing ration card systems, attendees are required to bring the following documents for verification purposes:
1. Aadhaar card: Serving as a unique identification document, the Aadhaar card is essential for verifying the identity of individuals seeking to avail themselves of the benefits offered under this initiative.
2. Domicile certificate: The domicile certificate serves as proof of residency within the Jammu & Kashmir region, ensuring that eligible individuals are residents of the area and entitled to receive government support.
3. Income proof: To assess eligibility criteria and ensure equitable distribution of resources, individuals are required to provide income proof demonstrating their financial status.
4. e-Shram card: As individuals registered on the e-Shram portal are the primary beneficiaries of this initiative, presenting the e-Shram card is crucial for verification purposes and to facilitate the inclusion process.
The Department of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs emphasizes the significance of this initiative in extending crucial support to deserving individuals within the region.
By facilitating access to essential resources such as ration cards, the government aims to alleviate hardships and improve the overall well-being of eligible workers and their families.
