J&K Govt Suspends Two Senior Police Officers
Srinagar, Oct 01 – The Jammu and Kashmir government has ordered the suspension of two senior police officers, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Sheikh Adil and Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Budgam Gowhar Ahmad Khan.
DySP Sheikh Adil, who had been recently arrested in a corruption case in Srinagar, has been placed under suspension with effect from September 21, 2023.
He faced charges under sections 7, 7A of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, and section 167, 193, 201, 210, 218, 221 of IPC in Police Station Nowgam.
During his suspension, Adil Mushtaq will be attached to the Zonal Police Headquarters Kashmir.
Simultaneously, the home department ordered the suspension of ASP Budgam Gowhar Ahmad Khan with immediate effect.
Pending an inquiry into his conduct, Khan will remain attached to Zonal Police Headquarters Kashmir during the period of suspension.
