In a bid to address the growing concern of microplastic contamination in Srinagar’s drinking water, the Department of Environmental Science at the University of Kashmir is seeking applications for a Junior Project Fellow (JPF).
The position, initially for one year, may be extended based on the candidate’s performance and funding availability.
Position Details:
- Position: Junior Project Fellow (JPF)
- Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 20,000 (Consolidated)
- Eligibility: PG in Environmental Science
- Essential Qualification: Candidates with a background in Environmental Science
- Desirable Qualification: Preference given to those with experience in water pollution or aquatic science
Project Overview:
The project, titled “Study of Microplastic in drinking water of Srinagar city: An alarming threat to human health,” is funded by the J and K Science Technology & Innovation Council, Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of Jammu and Kashmir.
Dr. Sami Ullah Bhat, Senior Assistant Professor, leads the initiative, emphasizing the urgency of addressing this environmental challenge.
