Latest Weather Update: District-wise Chances Of Snowfall In Jammu And Kashmir

In a weather update for the Kashmir Valley, residents can brace themselves for a potential change in weather as precipitation is expected during the late-night hours today or the early morning hours tomorrow.

The forecast suggests the possibility of rain or snow, with a particular focus on the plains of Kashmir.

Currently experiencing chilly temperatures well below freezing, there is optimism for a spell of snowfall tonight. Despite a modest increase in temperatures by 3-5°C, the climate remains cold enough to support precipitation in the form of snow, especially in the Shopian-Kulgam belt.

Analysts note that the current Western Disturbance influencing the region is relatively weak, making the prediction of significant precipitation uncertain.

However, if conditions align, the Kashmir Valley might witness light to moderate snowfall, transforming the landscape into a winter wonderland.

Chances of Precipitation (P) and Snowfall (S) district-wise:
1. Shopian: P = 55%, S = 90%
2. Kulgam: P = 45%, S = 60%
3. Anantnag: P = 35%, S = 65%
4. Pulwama: P = 35%, S = 65%

While the chances of precipitation remain, the key to potential snowfall lies in the occurrence of precipitation, which currently leans towards the lower end of the scale.

Furthermore, residents and visitors to Gulmarg and Sonamarg are advised to be prepared for a possible spell of snowfall, enhancing the scenic beauty of these renowned locations.
